50 Year Old Summer Camp Sky Ranch Asks Innerecho for Experience Designer's-Eye View

July 09, 2008

About an hour outside of Dallas, Sky Ranch is one of the largest summer camps in the nation. Originally founded as a small Christian camp serving young boys and girls in the summer exclusively, Sky Ranch has grown enormously and now provides distance learning and retreats to schools and businesses year-round. Sky Ranch is no longer a small summer camp, but that does not change its mission to provide the "small camp" experience better than other small camps.

In the height of its growing pains, Sky Ranch enlisted Innerecho to perform an experience design and technology audit of its entire organization, evaluating everything from camper registration to medical and food services. They wanted to determine if technology, and specifically better experience design, could help the camp operate more smoothly and efficiently. We developed a report that gave senior management a view of every facet of their operations from the perspective of the ground-level team. And we identified the critical next-steps in ten recommendations for technology and process implementations that would transform their organization.
