Content Management Pioneer TYPO3 Calls Innerecho for New Experience Design

December 10, 2008

TYPO3 is an open-source Content Management System (CMS) that Innerecho has implemeted dozens of times over the years. It is virtually unrivaled in terms of power and flexibility for any CMS, including proprietary systems. To quote TYPO3 core development team member Jeff Segars, "we rarely run into situations where we tell a [client] 'No, you can’t do this;' but on the flip side, simple tasks are often more complex than they should be."

TYPO3 wanted to resolve some of these usability issues in its version 4.3 release, and a TYPO3 Foundation member called Web Empowered Church (WEC) turned to Innerecho for the new experience design. The TYPO3 community had already identified that enhancing front-end editing should be the primary focus, so with this knowledge Innerecho designed the following features:

* AJAX loading and saving of editing forms
* Drag and drop of content elements
* Clipboard support
* Support for traditional templating and TemplaVoila
* Architecture in place for more advanced functionality, such as managing news articles, pages, etc.

TYPO3 plans to release version 4.3 with Innerecho's user interface in the spring of 2009.
