Portland's FiveEdge Media has officially joined the Innerecho family!
January 27, 2009
Dear FiveEdge Clients, Innerecho Clients and Friends,
FiveEdge Media and Innerecho were both founded at about the same time with the same values: we believed in small teams, personal relationships, and the power of great experience design. This was not merely a coincidence. We the founders had actually begun a friendship five years prior. We met each other at one company and managed to end up together at the next, collaborating on side projects all along but never on the same team internally. Although we were always hired to do "experience design," it was still an emerging field without an acronym or a job title.
Once we separated to build our own companies, we continued to work together on quite a few projects over the years. Our clients were different but our philosophy remained the same, and eventually it became clear that keeping our companies apart was an injustice to both. To us it just made sense for one to "adopt" the other, and the papers have finally been signed.
Some may call it an acquisition, but that is not our word of choice. As anyone who has ever been a part of one can tell you, acquisitions are big, cold and scary, and the only thing about this that fits that description is our determination for it not to be big, cold and scary. Our clients are our first and only priority, and we have been actively reaching out to them over the past month to ensure that everyone is comfortable and in-the-loop.
The Innerecho family is growing, but we have never been more serious about continuous self-improvement. To our clients, 'small teams' should mean that working with us keeps getting simpler. 'Personal relationships' should mean that communication keeps getting better. And 'great experience design' should mean that jaws keep dropping farther.
Please help us spread the word, and do not hesitate to contact either of us for any reason. We always love to hear from you, especially about your wonderful new ideas.
With our very best regards,
John Weiss and Jeff Corkran
